Following a delicious lunch and blessing by Michael Feldmann, new Associate Pastor of the Salem Lutheran Church, Chamber members and guests heard reports of recent activities within two local businesses.
Carmen White was the first presenter and announced that their businesses Blooming Creations and Corner Car Rental which is owned and operated by her and husband Robert, has moved to a new location. They are now located at 127 Westgate Ave in Salem. ( previously the Shamrock Cleaners building) White noted that both businesses had grown and more space was needed to add inventory to the full service floral shop. With the move the business has also added tuxedo rental to their services. White added that they started the car rental business with 10 vehicles and have grown now to 15 cars and vans. Vehicles can be rented daily or weekly. Blooming Creations phone is 618-740-0444, Corner Car Rental is 618-548-1145
Barry Adair, EVP/General Manager of Wabash Communications was the second presenter and reported on activities undertaken since acquisition of US Sonet last March. Adair praised the foresight of John Andrews in the construction of the US Sonet internet, telephone and TV service business. Adair noted Andrews designed a system that was ahead of capabilities of systems even in Chicago. Adair also noted that locally Wabash has had several teams of technicians in Salem the past several months checking the system, adding upgrades and increasing services available. One of the services added has been a home security program that allows total control over your home via any smart mobile device or internet connection. Services are available for live home surveillance, control remote door locks, motion detection, thermostats, monitor carbon detection, etc. For additional information, please call the office at 618-548-6909.
Adair assured 24/7 service. Regardless of the time of day, service will be on the way. Presently, several smaller communities are in process of receiving service and the plans are to continue expanding the area.
